Today was one of those extra special days in the life of a guitarist – it was a new guitar day! Early this morning I went down to McCabe’s Guitar Shop in Santa Monica and purchased a gorgeous Taylor 210CE. It’s a Dreadnought body shape with a nice cut away for high fret access – perfect for everything from Pop to Bluegrass.
I had with me my associate, NZ producer James Jeffery, who helped me select the perfect axe for studio recording. We had the pleasure of putting her to the test as we spent the rest of the day working on tracks at Rondor Studios – she performed beautifully. We created a nice blend of DI and miked (miced?) Acoustic sounds, and I must say, I am extremely pleased with the purchase. I look forward to many more great musical experiences with my new Taylor!
Thanks to my buddy Angat for having me on his radio show, “TAMC” on UCLA Radio. I played some solo guitar arrangements, like “Georgia,” “Imagine,” and “Rain Song,” Angat spun some of my original tunes, and we had blast rapping in the booth – I look forward to making a future appearance! Be sure to check out his show every Saturday from 2-4, live streaming at UCLARadio.com or via your smartphone. I’ll post a link to the whole show soon!
